Raptor Runners Excel at 2018 Lake Samish Run

Runners from the Chuckanut Raptors Running Club excelled in the 6.5 mile race at the annual Lake Samish Run event on January 7, 2018, capturing 7 of the top 8 places (128 runners completed the race).   The scenic race course goes completely around Lake Samish, which is located in the Chuckanut Mountains just south of Bellingham, WA.  The event was organized by the Greater Bellingham Running Club.  The day of the race was very chilly with heavy rain.  Nonetheless, the youth runners from the Raptors Club thrived in the challenging conditions.  Congratulations to following runners  from the club: Kristin Garcia – 1st place woman’s division (and 5th overall); Abbas Theophilus – 2nd place men’s division; Justin Burgess – 3rd place men’s division; Landon Sturdevant – 4th place men’s division; Coach Peter Oviatt – 5th place men’s division; Jaskaran Dhatt – 6th place men’s division; and Maldonado Avendano – 7th place men’s division.  Full race results are available here.
